Katarina Barruk is a Sámi artist whose music brings ancestral tradition into dialogue with contemporary sound. Rooted in Sámi language, culture and storytelling, her work explores themes of identity, belonging and climate change, while creating space for Indigenous perspectives within a global musical landscape. Her work has received international recognition from The Guardian, Crack Magazine, Huck and BBC. Following her contribution ‘Dárbbuo’ to TAKKUUK, the Arctic-focused compilation curated by electronic pioneers Bicep, Barruk continues to expand her international presence while using music as a powerful means of cultural expression and preservation.
