Fauness is a visual artist, musician and producer based in London. The debut signee to Jam City’s new label Earthly Records, she is inspired by her own lived experience and that of her female friends and relatives, Fauness writes narrative songs for anyone who ever felt like an outsider. Influenced by the blues, folk and country music she grew up around as well as a passion for new sounds, she creates her own hybrid of electronic fairy rock music.
Here, among the flora and fauna of a dreamy Arcadian landscape, Fauness and her companies illuminate the artifice, strangeness and unifying potential of feminine codes. Fauness regularly draws on experiences both universal and deeply personal, as she curates anthems of self-alienation tinged by ecological concerns that affect all life on earth.
